I did not come from a finance background. Markets were not even on my radar — until a random YouTube video of some trader showing off profits crossed my feed. It was COVID, everything was shut down — offices, malls, flights — except, oddly enough, the stock market. Sitting at home with nowhere to go, I figured I’d take a look. What even is the stock market? That look turned into an obsession.
From May to August 2020, I did what any serious beginner does — buried myself in theory. By August, I had opened a trading account. By March 2021, I had lost most of my capital.
Classic story, right?
I jumped from one strategy to another, following every trader on social media who seemed to know what they were doing. No framework. No process. Just noise dressed up as wisdom. The results were exactly what you’d expect from trading randomly — random.
I took a month off — from the markets, not from life. Studied my own trades, not textbooks. Sat with every mistake. Realised I had been trading without a system, which is just gambling with extra steps.
Found Mark Minervini and Stan Weinstein. Built a proper setup. Started again. This time, losses shrunk. Conviction grew. Things were clicking.
Then social media happened again.
F&O traders were posting screenshots of life-changing profits. I was doing well in the cash segment — but those numbers were too tempting. Went all in on F&O. And lost it all. F&O had eaten everything the cash segment had built.
The market then went sideways for months. For most traders, a frustrating phase. For me, the best classroom I ever had. Observed every phase, every cycle, every trap the market sets for the impatient. From there — no looking back. Entered the 2023-24 bull run at the right time and — more importantly — exited at the right time.
Five years of sharing market views publicly. Every cycle has added a layer. What I teach now is everything I learnt the hard way — the frameworks that work, the mindset that holds, and how to stay away from the noise that costs everyone money.
